New working group with CBS, Datavard, Natuvion, SNP, and SAP makes it easier for large ERP customers to migrate to SAP S/4HANA

Together with pilot partners CBS, Datavard, Natuvion, and SNP, SAP formed a new taskforce that makes data migration to SAP S/4HANA for ERP Major Customers more compliant, makes the data intelligent and produces a minimal downtime on go-live

This new approach is called an SAP S/4HANA Selective Data Transition Engagement.

When a new implementation or system conversion is not appropriate for a business, companies wishing to transition can turn to this new taskforce for help with an new form of migration to SAP S/4HANA. A good example of industries that require this new approach are utilities, insurance, or banking that typically have high volumes of financial historical data required to leverage the new intelligent and compliance features and functions in SAP S/4HANA.

These new community members provide assistance to corporations through an approach that combines features of a new, classic implementation with a system conversion. Master data and balances are transferred to the SAP S/4HANA environment along with specific objects and their entire or partial history. The entire process is executed with minimal downtime for the end user.

In addition, the five players will define what changes to the corporate structure and business processes in data migration make sense (so-called valid migration scenarios). Here, the group follows a selective approach that can be combined with the SAP Model Company. This means that customers can continue to choose freely from the products and services of additional suppliers.

"The working group, SAP S/4HANA Selective Data Transition Engagement, adds a valid third option to our SAP S/4HANA Movement Program where market requirements make pure reimplementation or system conversion impossible," explains Stefanie Kübler, Vice President of Data Management and Landscape Transformation, SAP Digital Business Services. As SAP's spokesperson for the working group, she adds, "Our customers can rely on the members of the working group to know the opportunities and risks of a selective approach, to have expertise in this area, to continuously develop their knowledge, and to develop a project experience exchange."
