There is a new global expert SAP community for SAP System Landscape Optimization (SAP SLO) who are leveraging the lessons learned from the first SAP S/4HANA transformation customers to create and share common standards, methods, and data processing procedures for reliable and proven data migration approaches to SAP S/4HANA.
One of these approaches is new and was soft-launched by SAP at SAPPHIRE 2019. It is a transformation method called the "SAP S/4HANA Selective Data Transition Approach." This innovative approach combines company abilities to leverage current investments in SAP with a flexible reorganization of current SAP business processes, while adding new innovations and achieving minimal business disruption at Go-Live.
This is a true hybrid approach of Greenfield and Brownfield, as it preserves historical data during the implementation of new innovations in SAP S/4HANA.
The community goal: To drive a standard of high-quality SAP system transformations using partnership, customer expertise, and investment, regardless of the complexity of the data migration.
These lessons reduce future project time, costs, and risks through the creation of repetitive and effective SAP standard methodologies.
