Reduction of system costs
A global manufacturer of medical devices decided to upgrade its SAP ECC system to SAP S/4HANA, while also aiming to significantly reduce future data storage costs. When calculating the target system size with SAP, the team agreed on a substantially smaller storage capacity. This was achieved solely through a Selective Data Transition (SDT) approach using Natuvion DCS Migrate and the implementation of an archiving process for legacy data. Of the original 12 terabytes in ECC, only 1.7TB was migrated to SAP S/4HANA, and the capacity will be kept permanently below 2TB going forward. The result? Annual savings of €500,000 in RISE costs. -
Minimal impact on employees
A global tractor manufacturer needed to convert its European ECC system to SAP S/4HANA due to directives from headquarters. The problem was that not enough employees were available to execute such a project. Although NTT DATA Business Solutions submitted a higher bid for system integration compared to competitors, the project was awarded to NTT DATA Business Solutions. We demonstrated that by using the Natuvion migration solution, DCS Migrate, overall project costs would be significantly lower and only 15% of the customer’s workforce was required compared to competing proposals. After a thorough review of the projections by external auditors, NTT DATA Business Solutions and the customer even agreed upon a fixed price to further minimize risk for the customer. -
Fast and straightforward implementation
A European wholesale company, which had operations in Russia and Belarus prior to sanctions, made a short-term decision to divest its business and properties there. As part of the sales package, it initiated a system separation and transferred the relevant data to the buyer. Using the standardized NTT DATA Business Solutions carve-out approach with Natuvion DCS Migrate, this project was completed in four months. The project met all of the requirements set by the owner-managed supervisory board and various regulators.
What mattered most in this project was that ongoing operations could continue without significant disruption. Thanks to near-zero downtime optimization, there was also minimal additional effort required from external IT resources. After completion, the customer estimated total cost savings of over 50% compared to the original budget and is now using the Natuvion product DCS Analyze with NTT DATA Business Solutions to analyze the remaining systems in preparation for the upcoming SAP S/4HANA migration.
