-
Carve-out of Tricon Wear Solutions’ SAP data following its acquisition by Construction Forms from Madison Industries.
-
Strict compliance with the requirements of the Transition Services Agreement (TSA) between Madison Industries, Tricon, and Construction Forms.
-
Limited downtime window: the data deletion process could not exceed 13.5 hours, and the entire cutover had to be completed within a single weekend.
-
Highly complex ECC 6.0 Suite-on-HANA source system at Madison Industries, requiring a precisely designed data deletion logic.
-
Close collaboration among all project stakeholders, combined with detailed project planning and preparation.
-
Joint development and approval of the data deletion logic, supported by extensive testing to validate deletion rules and identify potential risks.
-
Use of the Natuvion Data Conversion Suite (DCS) to execute the data deletion with high precision.
-
Achieving 99% data accuracy already during the test phase, ensuring a smooth transition ahead of the final cutover.
-
Deletion of approximately 538,521,000 data records within 13.5 hours.
-
Near error-free go-live, completed significantly earlier than originally planned.
-
Seamless continuation of business operations following the go-live weekend.
-
Additional benefit: the Natuvion DCS also identified and removed “orphaned” data that had remained in the system from previous divestitures.
Objective
The objective of the project was to establish a standalone SAP system landscape for Tricon Wear Solutions following its acquisition by Construction Forms. The new system needed to contain only Tricon-related data. To achieve this, all non-Tricon data had to be removed from the existing SAP systems of the former parent company, Madison Industries, creating a clearly separated system environment. At the same time, it had to be ensured that no data from other company codes would be transferred to the new system.

Detailed project overview
Tight schedule for carve-out, deletion, and go-live
In the wake of a divestment initiative, it can be a challenge to separate and remove data about the subsidiary to be acquired from its parent company’s SAP systems. This was why Construction Forms Inc. engaged NTT Data Business Solutions (NDBS), which in turn approached Natuvion for assistance with the carve-out, deletion, and cutover portion of the project.
A further element in the challenge was that the deletion needed to be completed within 13.5 hours and the go-live in less than a weekend. Construction Forms required that the new system would be ready for use on the following Monday morning with no impact on business continuity. Madison, Tricon, and Construction Forms all needed to adhere to the stipulations of the transition services agreement (TSA) related to the acquisition.
Natuvion DCS ensures rapid analysis and precise deletion
To ensure a smooth project execution, Natuvion worked closely with all stakeholders from the very beginning. The first month focused on detailed project planning and the development of a precise data deletion logic, which was aligned and approved by all parties involved. Over the following two months, several test runs were conducted to validate the approach.
For the implementation, NDBS created a sandbox copy of Madison Industries’ ECC 6.0 Suite-on-HANA source system. Within this environment, Natuvion used the Natuvion Data Conversion Suite (DCS) to remove all non-Tricon data. The result was a system containing only Tricon-related information. Madison, Tricon, and NDBS jointly reviewed the outcome to ensure that neither too much nor too little data had been deleted.
Prior to the final go-live, two additional data deletion test runs and a full dress rehearsal were carried out to eliminate potential risks. Already during the initial test phase, the data transfer achieved an accuracy rate of 99%. In addition, the Natuvion DCS identified “orphaned” data that had remained in Madison’s systems from previous divestitures.
Successful data deletion and a seamless Go-Live
The data deletion was successfully completed within the required 13.5-hour window. In total, 113,620 tables were processed and 538,520,967 records were deleted. The go-live was set for a weekend, with the cutover to be finalized by 18h45 on Saturday. The overall project efficiency and excellent collaboration with Madison, Tricon, and Construction Forms, along with NDBS, enabled Natuvion to complete the cutover and hand over the finished project much earlier than planned, at 11h00 on Saturday.
Brandon Evans, NDBS VP of Customer Transformation, comments: “This has been one of the most seamless and quiet cutovers and go-lives that I’ve been a part of in quite a few years. Kudos to the Natuvion team.” This sentiment was echoed by Kevin Griffin, Financial Planning and Analysis Manager at Tricon Wear Solutions. In a message to the Natuvion/NDBS team, he said: “Really appreciate everybody’s support and work over these last four or five months. Great work.”
The Natuvion/NDBS team’s expertise and dedication have ensured a smooth transition for Tricon. The Mock 0 phase was already 99 % accurate on data transfer.
