Seamless SAP data integration during ongoing operations within a clearly defined timeline
The consolidation of the company codes posed significant technical challenges. Heterogeneous data sets from multiple entities had to be merged consistently and completely into a single target system. This included master and transactional data, inventories, and open accounts payable and receivable items. In addition, general ledger accounts and asset accounting data from the source systems had to be transferred into the target company code.
A key challenge was executing this complex data migration without causing noticeable disruption to day-to-day business operations. At the same time, the ambitious timeline of just four months until go-live required precise planning and close collaboration among all project stakeholders.
Structured data migration with the Natuvion Data Conversion Suite
To ensure successful execution, STOCKMEIER relied on the expertise of NTT DATA Business Solutions and Natuvion. While NTT DATA Business Solutions was responsible for project governance and methodological consulting, Natuvion managed the technical migration activities.
The project was based on a comprehensive analysis of the existing system landscape using the Natuvion Data Conversion Suite (Natuvion DCS). All relevant SAP modules were assessed to identify and clearly define migration-relevant data objects.
Based on this analysis, a predefined and project-specific customized template within the Natuvion DCS was implemented, significantly accelerating the merge process. The migration was prepared and refined through multiple test cycles, ensuring a smooth and reliable go-live during the final cutover.
In addition to the technological framework, close coordination between all stakeholders and in-depth knowledge of the existing SAP landscape proved critical to the project’s success.
Successful consolidation of company codes
The project was completed successfully and on schedule for the planned go-live. The three previously separate company codes were fully consolidated into one central company code. Data transfer was executed seamlessly and without impacting ongoing business operations.
As a result, the STOCKMEIER Group is now able to operate its SAP landscape more efficiently while continuing to leverage the full range of system functionalities without limitations. The targeted objectives regarding process harmonization, system consolidation, and future readiness were fully achieved.
